| Blessed by strong sunshine all day, a huge crowd turned out to what had been feared as low crowd numbers after last years fiasco and they were treated to a perfect display of riding by one of the countrys top up and coming young riders, Scott Elderfield. From the first lap of practice it was plain to see noone was going to come close to his lap times as he made the 450 look like a nitros powered bmx After a blisteringly quick start aboard the PAR Honda he set about stratching his lead to unimaginal proportions making other quality riders look average and had it not been for bike problems in the closing laps he would of lapped the entire field Second outing saw Scott come to the line on a borrowed 450 Kawasaki, many will already know thats Scotts chosen mount for next season, but the KXF didnt last more than a few laps and Scott pulled off gifting the lead to AMCA star Rick Dufeu(sp) who held it to the end. Much to the delight of the commentator Elderfield returned to the fray aboard a borrowed Honda and although several laps down ripped up the sand passing everyone on the track and once again treating the crowd to an amazing display of sand riding. Right heres a few photos to start off more tomorrow. Be rude not to start off with the star of the show.... AMCA superstar Lee Dunham aboard Gurt Krestinov's DEP 250 smoker, lasted 3 laps up front before it nipped up down the seafront It was so nice a lot of riders gave up racing for sunbathing. Young Kurt Richardson had a lesson in training with Coach the night before, in fact it was extreme training, we training into the early hours before rewarding ourselves with traditional seaside food, kebab n chips. | |
